Two of the most successful sci-fi / horror franchises in the history of the cinema are the Alien trilogy and the Predator series and this film brings the two of them together for the first time.
Millionaire Charles Bishop Wayland (played by Lance Henriksen) leads a team of assorted experts on a trip to Antarctica to investigate reports of a mysterious pyramid that appears to be buried beneath the ice.
Little do they know that they are entering a Predator designed hunting area where the main prey are Aliens.
Whilst the cast is competent the main stars are the monsters who take each other on in a grisly fight to the death. The film was a massive hit at the cinema last October and sold an amazing two million units on its first day of release in the USA.
