Sixteen year-old Lindsay, played by Brooke Nevin, is a sassy teen who thinks that she is far too cool to be bothered about Christmas.
So she decides to give the whole Yuletide experience a miss and go skiing with a bunch of friends.
When her parents ban her from going she takes it out on a poor old store Santa who is looking decidedly dowdy and moth-eaten.
Lindsay apologises for criticising him and offers to organise a makeover for Santa, changing a rather plump old man into a much leaner and fitter Santa who looks a whole lot better with a haircut and a beard trim and bears a striking resemblance to actor George Hamilton.
Then Lindsay has a huge shock when she discovers the real identity of her store Santa, changing her opinion of Christmas for ever.
