Warren Schmidt is having a bad enough time adapting to retirement. When his wife dies suddenly he decides to go on a trip in their luxurious Winnebago on a journey of self -discovery that culminates at his daughter’s wedding.
A colourful cast of characters including his daughter’s hapless fiancée and his feisty mother (played by the excellent Kathy Bates) help to make this genuinely moving and evocative film into a film that stays with the viewer long after it has finished.
